HVXC, after a productive training block, raced the heavily attended Adidas XC Challenge in Cary, NC. They raced well and ran themselves back into the conversations of the top Boys' and Girls' XC teams in the State of Tennessee.

The Girls' Championship race comprised of 30 complete Girls' teams, and 241 individual racers. HVXC placed 6th while Alexandra Vesser (Sr) placed 6th individually and Zarah Enbom (Jr) placed 24th both earning medals. Securing the strong finishing score for HVXC were Ava Woodyatt (Sr), Ana Sofia Marquez (Sr), and Linley Lawhorn (So).
The Boys' Championship race comprised of 39 complete Boys' teams, and a crowded start-line with 321 individual racers. HVXC placed 8th while Stephen Bell (Sr) placed 21st individually earning a medal. Securing the top 10 finishing score for HVXC were Aiden Rufi (Sr), Isaac Socha (Jr), Ignacio Almonte (Jr), and Brody VanMeter (Jr).
Our young Hawks spread their wings as well. The JV Boys' team placed 9th, led by Jonathan Hwang (Fr) in 20th out of 287 JV racers in his race and 208 addition JV racers in a separate JV volley. The HVXC's JV Girls' side consisted of 3, so the needed 5 racers for a team score was not tabulated. The JV Girls' were led by Sophia Leili (So) who ran very well after coming off a minor injury.
After mixing it up with the best that the NC region has to offer, HVXC will go south Saturday (9/26) to Huntsville, Alabama to test themselves against the best from the Gulf States region at the ON Twilight at PR'ville.
